We all know that smoking is one of the most deadliest habit in modern times. Unfortunately that doesn’t stop a lot of us from doing it. Over 66 million people suffer from health issues caused by smoking. For every person it kills, a minimum of 90 people lives with a severe smoking-related illness.
Even though we’re cutting back on cigarettes, they still linger. The damage it does to your lungs is often serious and irreversible. But for smokers and ex-smokers, you’re in luck! There is a drink that can help you cleanse your lungs of these toxins.
Three main ingredients make the drink work: turmeric, ginger, and onion. All three are packed with various health benefits but combined they form a potent and tasty lung cleansing beverage.
Turmeric is a spice from India that is widely known for its vibrant gold color. It’s also praised for its health benefits, as many as 600 of them! It’s high in minerals and vitamins and has anticancer, antibacterial and antiviral properties (source). If this spice isn’t a part of your daily life already, it should be!
Ginger is most commonly used for settling an upset stomach, but it can do so much more. One, in particular, is the ability to reduce excess mucus in your lungs, which can happen as a result of smoking (source).
Finally, onions have powerful antioxidant and anticancer properties (source). It’s been used to treat some cancers, showing it can inhibit further growth of the cells. Not bad for a vegetable that’s known for making you cry and being self-conscious of your breath.
2 tbsp. of turmeric
400g of onion
Thumb-sized ginger root
1 ts Apple Cider Vinegar
1L of water
Mix the sweetener into the water and heat until boiling
Chop the ginger and onion and add to the mixture, bring back to a boil
Add the turmeric and lower the heat to medium
Heat until there is only half the original amount left
Strain what’s left into a glass container
Let it cool to room temperature then place in the fridge
Consume 2 tbsp. daily, once in the morning and once in the evening, at least 2 hours after a meal
Smoking may be addictive, but it’s never too late to quit. It won’t be easy, but it will benefit you in the end. This drink is a great start for smokers and a better one for ex-smokers. Try it yourself and start breathing a little easier!

Step 1: Harnessing the Power of Meditation
Take 10 minutes out of your day in a calm warm place and ask yourself the question and get the “real” answer with the help of this short 8 minute “Motivational” meditation, which encourages us to relax deeply in order to ask the question: “Do I really Want to Quit Now”. When we ask such questions when we are relaxed, we receive answers that are much more in tune with our inner wisdom and strongly motivate us in achieving our goal.
Step 2. A bit of psychological work for you
Next take a bit of time to answer these questions contained in this exercise, which are based on the latest psychological research to strengthen your resolve and motivation to Quit Smoking. They are essential to quit successfully, so download this short questionnaire.
Motivation is essential at this stage, you need a powerful, personal reason to quit. The questionnaire asks a few simple questions that are designed to awaken certain motivational strengthens.
Step 3. Choose Your QUIT DAY
Once you still want to stop smoking, you are ready to set a QUIT DAY. Pick a day that is not too far in the future (so that you do not change your mind), but which gives you enough time to prepare. Choose your quit date and prepare to stop smoking altogether on that day.
Your quit day is strengthened when it is a special day preferably one that’s important to you. For example: your birthday, a family members birthday or anniversary (births, marriages or deaths). An anniversary of the day connected with your work, your lucky number – you know the kind of day that has significance in your life.

Remember That Time Is on Your Side

Lean on your Loved Ones
Tell your friends, family, and other people that you’re close to trying to quit. They can encourage you to keep going, especially when you’re tempted to light up. You can also join a support group or talk to a counselor. Behavioral therapy is a type of counseling that helps you identify and stick to quit-smoking strategies.
Avoid Alcohol, tea and coffee and other Triggers
When you drink, it’s harder to stick to your no-smoking goal. So try to limit alcohol when you quit this time. Likewise, if you often smoke when you drink coffee, switch to tea for a few weeks. If you usually smoke after meals, find something else to do instead, like brushing your teeth, taking a walk, texting a friend, or chewing gum.
Once you’ve smoked your last cigarette, get rid of all of your ashtrays and lighters. Wash any clothes that smell like smoke, and clean your carpets, draperies, and upholstery. Use air fresheners to get rid of that familiar scent. Open the windows.
